When I finally recruited a solid band
(my brother, Corky Cook, on bass and Yasha Phillips on Drums) we went in to record something more radio friendly. We did this
with the help of a friend in Barstow, CA at the beginning of 2007. Tracks 1-5 on the CD were recorded by Mike Manness, basically
in his garage. Those tracks were mastered by Silver Sonya in Virginia. I write all the songs and my influences are based on my eclectic love of
music. It’s what gives us a unique sound. Mainly I could say that I pulled from Dick Dale, The Violent Femmes, and Devo,
however; I wouldn’t limit influence to them solely. I’ll listen to any music you put in front of me. Since the conception of the album we
have all been working very hard. Though we all still rely on day jobs, weekends are reserved for gigs and we play any city
within driving distance. Typically we play for 30-100 people per show and with each show our fan base grows bigger. To date
we have sold around 300 CDs, and we have gained radio play and won awards for our performances. Our next step is to get this
business rolling strong enough to quit our beloved day jobs. •2008 Inland Empire Music Awards
